OPTIONAL COVER, POLICY FLEXIBILTY & YOUR CHOICES
Our unique absence policy has been designed to offer schools a range of flexible cover options. You can tailor cover to closely match that of your current provider or create a bespoke policy to meet your school’s individual needs. Where cover is selected, it will be clearly shown on both your quotation and policy schedule. You should always carefully read and check these policy documents.
Stress and Stress Related Illnesses
|In 2015, research showed 83% of teachers reported work-related stress as a problem. Your school should consider whether your budget is suitably protected against stress-related absences. Our extensive stress cover offers protection for a wide range of medical conditions including depression, anxiety, bereavement reaction, fatigue, bi-polar disorder, and general debility. You can choose a benefit period which meets your needs : 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, 190 days, 365 days.|
|Suspension Benefit||If selected, the daily benefit will be paid up to a maximum of £2,500 any one period of absence and up to a maximum of £5,000 for any one period of insurance.|
You can extend this cover from the standard 10 days up to the maximum benefit period of 190 (Teachers) 365 (Support).
|Family Illness Absence||Benefit will be paid for up to a maximum of 5 Academic Working Days when the first two days of consecutive absence have elapsed. No excess is applied.|
|Illness Related to Pregnancy||Some providers exclude claims for pregnancy related illnesses at 20 weeks. This exclusion may meet the needs of your school and we therefore offer you the option to limit the cover for illness related to pregnancy at 20 weeks.|
|Personal Accident and Funeral Benefits||Lump sum benefits for accident or injury occurring on school premises and resulting in permanent total disablement and death.|
|Paternity and Paternal Adoption Leave||The daily benefit is payable for up to a maximum of 10 academic working days.|
|Maternity and Maternal Adoption Leave||Lump sum benefits are payable after 39 weeks or upon return to work, whichever is the earliest. Lump sum benefits are designed to make up the difference between what you can re-claim for Statutory Maternity Pay and what you are required to pay for Occupational Maternity Pay.
